Hey people,
Thinking about buying myself a HID kit for my Ford. I've got the XR front end (EL XR). Just after a couple of answers if someone doesnt mind:

1) I'd need H1 bulbs correct? Only need it for the low beam(Dont really want the Hi/Low beam feature) After the 6000k or 6500k
2) Its all just plug and play? Easy to adjust the beam itself?
3) Can anyone tell me which is best to choose from on ebay?
(http://cars.search.ebay.com.au/HID_Cars-Bikes-Boats_W0QQ_trksidZm37QQfromZR40QQsacatZ9800) Dont know which one is best.
Dont really wanna be spending no more then $200 on these...

Thats all i can think of for now, hope someone can help me out :)

Yes you neeed H1 bulbs. As for kits im will be choosing from one buyer only as he has a 1 year warranty AND he is the ONLY ebay store HID kit that installs them in melbourne with locations in melbourne. Also the kits are very well priced and even if they are not plug and play pay the $40 for installation drivfe in drive out :D here's te link

Got any pics with your lights on razor? I plan on getting a kit a bit later on in the year, just cant decide on 8000k or 10000k, all the pics of the 10000k dont do them justice and make them look way too blue imo.

i dont have any pics but trust me when i say that the 10000k ones arent as blue as they look in the pics... i couldnt decide between 8000k or 10000k either, ended up going 10000k and im glad i did because they have the nicest crisp clear blue/white light but not with too much blue... and f**k they are bright... if i get a chance ill take some pics tonight...

Ive got an EL XR, and bought the 8000k HID kit off ebay, paid 170 and then went and picked it up had to pay another 20, but very happy with these lights, people have told me that they look very nice blue coming head on and that they are bright, havent been flashed at all. had to lower the beam a bit but thats easy, take of the front indicators and you can get to the little screw thing.

photos never show how good these things are, i bought mine from the ebay seller, ORANGE DEVICES

only thing is you will have to cut a big hole in the back of the cover that goes on the back of the headlight, so you can get the new wires in, and then the actual bulb itself is too big so you will need to cut some rubber away from the grommet.
The ballasts are easy to find places from, just need to take out the airbox and the battery.

Sorry i tried taking a picture tonight but my peice of s**t camera just doesnt replicate the light properly... ull just have to trust me when i say you wont be dissapointed... id suggest the 10000k... its got blue... but its not over the top... but dont go any lower then 8000k otherwise youll be going back into the orange range when u hit about 6000k

Generally speaking:

4000k - Normal Headlight Colour

6000k - White with a tint of Orange

8000k - Crystal White (Probably the purest white)

10000k - White with a tint of Crystal blue (I find this gives the clearest/crispest colour)

12000k - Blue with a Tint of White

14000k - Blue

Hope that gives you some sort of guide to go by but i wouldnt suggest going any lower then 8000k

I also bought mine from ORANGE DEVICES on Ebay.

The 6000K HIDs actually put out the most light. I had 6000K in my EL, and did them again in my GT-P.

i agree i had 8000k then one globe blew so i got 6000k ones and they are heaps better..

pure white light is 5000k (i think) so the 6000k put out the best clarity of light.

i seem to find a lot of different manufacturers quote different spectrums of light as being different colours, my old globes were 4,750k and they still looked blueish :S
