Hi i am a new member and very happy with my ford, which is a 97 EL falcon s/w, it will soon be converted to lpg, but something we didnt notice when we purchased it, was that the tailgate strut has rusted and when i lifted it the other day, the strut broke off. it is the actual weld to the body and its not just a matter of replacing the strut.

Does anyone know how to fix this or who and how much can fix it. The tail gate is heavy to hold with 3 children and a pusher and shopping.
