If you are from NSW the answer is NO. You don't need the moulds for a rego check. :)

If you mean Interior / Trims

I would say YES.

If i was the Roadworthy testing faculty, I wouldnt pass a car with missing interior trim.

Reasons:

Exposed holes.
No arm rests.
No weatherstrip.
No sound proofing.

To be a prick, If I pulled over a vehicle and there was no regit reasoning, I'd canary it.

But externally, No. I wouldn't think its an issue.

Are you serious you'd canary someone for no doortims?

Fair enough a roadworthy test, but f**k, like when I did a s**t of work and couldn't be bothered I left them off well
I was working s**t out for a few weeks.

It was actually strange when I had a door handle again, I kept pulling for the rod.

I drove without half my dash on, half my interior door trims and rear seats...because I had to quickly run to the shop to buy something to finish the job.

I screw the door handles on just in case i did get pulled over though, that way you can still open and shut the door.

I would think it is unroadworthy, but don't know how stricht coppers will be on you if you get stung.

I think the exposed metal parts would be the biggest issue

nope, was a suggestion for him to use them if he dont like the ugly au ones, they are more flatter and dont stick out and not noticable

No it doesn't make them unroadworthy. I haven't had side moulds for the last couple of years and have had no issues with police. On E-series they're only held on by double sided tape anyway.
