If anyone else gets wet feet driving their AU, pull the windscreen wipers out, underneath will be three spot welds roughly above the master cylinder.
You will probly have a crack linking the spot welds and wetting your carpet making your car stink.
I dont know if this will be confined to manuals (mine is).

It's up to you how you fix it but given mine was out of warranty i just covered the crack in silicon. Im sure the crack will get bigger but i couldnt see any other way that wasnt going to end with me having an empty wallet.

yea same thing happens to me. I HATE it when it rains!!

I also have to park the car on an incline if it's raining, that seems to help. At least now i know what to do.

Cheers

You buggers ought to thankful you live somewhere where it rains.
I'd be delighted to get a wet carpet if it broke the drought!!!
