mines on lows and not low enough. superlows were made for big rim'd cars. but your right about the ultralows being for show only. altho blackers10's lane might be going on ultralows as superlows just isnt low enough with 20's

you cant caut 1/2 a coil off as it wont sit right in the holders

Ultralows arn't really that bad. I have no problems with speed humps and my area is full of them, big ones too. Only time I really scrape is big petrol stations driveways and such. I'm sure I can go lower without having to get airbags, I see plenty of cars lower.

Instead of my original thought of airbags, how about sandbags in the boot?? Not sure how'd you would do the front tho....

for the rear springs you can cut half a coil off and it will still go in there fine, because the top rubber mount isnt located it just ataches to the spring an ends up where ever

but the front you do need to cut a full coil off, altho i would rather just get some lowered pedders struts as it will bring the front down an extra 30mm straight up without cutting

air bags arent the only way to go lower, you can get custom springs or even get your king springs reset which king spring can do if you call them up

air bags would be the most practical though. So you can still raise it up when you get to a big gutter or speed bump.

lol u ford guys make me laugh how much yas are into being so legal and not doing anything to mod ur car, when was the last time u heard of someone dieing from someone with reasonably cut springs? or cut springs at all, put more trust into your skills, and take some risks, when would a cop jack ur car up and see if the springs are cut or not, ill just throw my old xr springs in there for a roadworthy and throw the cut ones back in after that. i never get pulled over anyway, because i drive responsibly, yes im a p plater and i dont muck around

Actually, you would be quite surprised at how much of a risk it is. It's very dangrous, I have heard of people's springs popping out of place while they're driving, bad handling etc etc. There was even a story on the news about the risks (Yes I know, because it's illegal of course they are going to have a bias view) but it didn't stop the facts coming through; depending on how it is done, you can visibly see that the spring has been cut and it showed some of the accidents and dangerous situations people put themselves in by cutting springs.
I imagine there are people who can 'safely' cut springs and never have anything happen to them but I consider this luck.
I'm not trying to start an argument, but personally I would never cut springs and I don't think encouraging people to do that is something that this forum represents.

dont bring us good gokart drivers into disrepute!!

no i agree, lowered springs arent expensive, so there is no need to cut normal springs, its just cheap and backyard, and unnesecarily risky
