Hey Guys, Just a quick question.

What sort of prices should I be looking at for lowering a EB Fairmont - say 30 - 40mm?

Pedders sent me a quote for $1150, is this in the ballpark?

Thanks!

Around 820 from Wholesale suspension at blacktown, including new shocks and new king springs.

That said, I personally like the pedders front lowered strut (standard spring) and lowered rear combo. That seems like an ok price.

I would prefer softer springs. If you want a harder ride then change to 17's... Will do the same. Otherwise you end up with a car that is just bone-jaring

Well I got a quote from JAX offering $450 for the just the springs installed.

However he mentioned that the right way to do it is to have shortened shocks as well - all up $950.

Jugding from what you've said here....just having springs is still ok?

Nope - if your going SL then you *need* shortened shocks at the rear.

I have shortened springs in my EA, what advantages am I gonna get from shortened shocks and a camber kit? Ride is alright but i'm only sitting on 16s.. I presume the above will aid in cornering and traction?

shortened shocks would help with not bottoming out

No - Shortened shocks aids in stopping the shocks from bottoming out.

Its one of the main reasons that shocks dont last in SL Cars

its still an issue in Low cars, but not to the same extent

Alright so I think that I'll just go with the "low" springs then upgrade my shocks later and possibly add a camber kit later on..... :D

Bah!

I've just scraped the bottom of my car in a dirt carpark and ripped a whopping hole in my muffler!

It seems I've really got to check how low I go now so I repeat that mistake!
