Hey guys, got a stock ED Fairmont (besides clear indicator lenses), i've just got my p's a week ago and its a first car :P I'm looking to do some cheapish/easy mods, im getting my tax back and a bonus at work soon so should have about $1000 to spend on it, what would you guys reccomend?

Yeah was thinkign a new exhaust, anythin special i should know about it? as in certain brands? and got a rough price estimate?

For a cat back in 2 1/2 inch i paid $220 inc GST 4 weeks ago

so $220 for the catback exhaust, about 300-400 for extractors?

yep.. and rig up a home job cold air unduction kit.. tinted windows.. and possibly some 2nd hand lowered springs with the left overs?

pacemaker extractors are the premium brand (quite costly)

genies are the cheaper alternative (but are very good).

can get a hi flow cat if you like (if you decide to just punch out the honeycomb centre, beware that if caught you are going to get the book thrown at you and it isn't pretty).

2.5" catback exhaust (make sure you get a mandrel bent exhaust). lukey or redback are the main brands people buy.

If you did all that, you'd be looking @ around $1,000-$1,3000 (depending where you get it from).

That's the easiest mods to do, plus it will allow the engine to breathe better which means itll rev easier so that'll tide you over for a while.

also, wack a K&N air filter in, they flow better and you can clean them when needed rather than buying new filters.

Can anyone post up a link to a site that shows how to do the home job for the cold air induction? And if someone has had pacemaker extractors and a 2.5 inch catback exhaust put on there EA-ED could you post up model numbers so i can order the parts Please

Here's what I did to my ED......
I fitted a XH snorkel
Clear indicators
AU3 clear side repeaters
EF/EL T-Bar handle
Those are just a few basic mods that can make your ED better.....And they are cheap and easy mods too.
