hey everyone.

okay after a nice rainy day in melbourne my boot lid seems to collect water pretty well......but it doesn't leak into the boot until i lift the boot lid and close it again. anyways i think the water leaks in and gets trapped behind the carpet somehow and when i open the boot and then slowly close it the water rushes out of the locking thingy that holds the boot down when closed.

where the water is coming from im not sure....i have checked the spoiler and there seems to be no holes.....where else can the water come from besides the spoiler? (btw im removing the spoiler sometime later in the year)

but i have noticed that it happens to the EF/ELs....my EA was fine...except that the EA leaked in the front and made a puddle in my passenger side.....

hmm i shall try and find out whats wrong....

maybe mix some food colouring in with some water and tip it over ur boot and follow the stain left by the colouring ? lol

So the water is leaking into the actual lid? If so it would have to be coming in through the number plate holes.
And since you have the high series garnish, it could be coming in through it's holes also.

ahhh cools...loooks like ill be getting some rubber washers to jam in there. cheers. i shall give that a try.

used to do that at work though, just use a hose or what ever

I had the same problem and its easy fixed with a tube of silicon.

I used the white s**t cause its the only stuff in dads shed.

I took off te number plate and filled all 4 holes with silicon then put the number plate back on. I also opened the boot and took off the carpet. I then siliconed around the boot lock. This fixed all my problems.
