Interested??? I thought so. Here is what you do, either contact a Tint-a-car or a Solace outlet and ask for a product called Ricochet. It is a clear plastic protective film that has a special sticky tape at the back of it and is about 1mm thick. You attach it on top of your headlight lenses and it acts both as a headlight protector, protecting your lenses from sand, oils, chemicals and all the dirt from the other vehicles and the road. It also cuts the UV rays down. AND once it is on, you can’t see that it is there. There is something similar sold by 3M. DON'T forget to use Plexus plastic spray on a regular basis. There you go. Great idea, far better than ugly headlight protectors, though I haven't seen this film stuff around for awhile.

Make sure you put new head light globes in after using the sandpaper because thats what actually causes the yellowness.
Use Phillips globes as they are hard cut glass and the UV from the bulb doesnt affect the plastic. Most other globes including narva (Cheap Globes) dont have hard cut glass and the uv from the light affects the plastic. I recommend Phillips Blue Vision, they look great and give you heaps better light. Dont have to worry about the yellow problem in the XR ef/el models cause they use glass lenses. |

Finally got in an polished mine up...
1st go i ended up with some areas still looking a little cloudy...gave it all a 2nd going over spending about 15 mins on each light with each grade of wet n dry and it came up looking damned fine

I'm lucky. I can borrow micromesh kits from work which gives me wet and dry ranging from 400 grit up to 6000 grit. Works awesome, although im having to go over them every 3-6 months or so

I used 2000 grit, then buffed them with 2pack cutting compound, then pollished the sh_t out of them. Came up cristal with mine.

i have used 2000grit, then used cutters, but they still look cloudy.
i cannot find this plexus anywhere, where would i find some. thanks rushed. |

i did both of mine, one head light broke so i got one from the wreckers which was pretty much brand new. and you can tell there is a majopr difference between the new one and the cleaned up one. does anyone here reckopn they can get them looking like new again??

when mine were almost too yellow for a warrent, I just used humble old toothpaste, a rag filched from the kitchen and a nail brush from the bathroom. 20 min later 2 workable headlights, not brand new but a huge improvement.......cheep too

a little cut and polish and a lot of elbow grease brought my old ones up great, although in extreme cases ive seen friends use a little brasso first to get it really clean.
