Hi,

I am new to this forum and am seeking advice as I am a woman.

I have purchased an ef 96 that has shocking paint work. The mechanics have been rebuilt (reason why I bought it), and it is dedicated lpg.

As I work as a carer for the disabled and elderly I needed a reliable car fast and decided to go with this one.

I wish to replace the panels from the front back, as it has bad crows feet to the back doors. The roof is shocking but I will have that resprayed at a later date. The car is white by the way.

I was thinking of looking on ebay for a car that has great panels but going cheep due to mechanical wear and tear. Will an el fit an ef body without much hassle?

Also I have noticed a sqeek in the wheel area when the car starts to drive untill for a couple of seconds. This goes away. I am thinking of having the supsension looked at but want to know what improves suspension drive so I dont get taken for a ride by the suspension guys.

Any advice from the blokes (or less naive woman)would be great.

Tiffany

EF and EL Guards, doors, rear bar and boot are the same, Bonnets are different as are front bars. EF & EL Fairmonts have the same panels for both models. Plenty of panels come up on Ebay and are a lot easier to freight than a whole car. Check the local wreckers.

My car is an ef, gli.

Can I put the front bar and bonnet of the el onto my ef?

I must say after being a holden supporter all my life the ford compared to the vn has converted me.

Cheers.

Yep, you can swap nearly all EF / EL parts,
However the Bonnet / Bumper and Headlights are different.

Unless its a Fairmont, in which case, its not.

There is a slight color difference with interior, and note sometimes the paintwork is different due different manufacturing plants and obviously fading.

Some electricals are different too, but I doubt this'll cause an inconvenience.

EF and EL GLi front bars and Bonnets are different.
you can put an EL front bar on an EF but you must also use the EL bonnet.
