hi guys,
if going a respray, would you rather buy new aftermarket quarters, bonnet, bootlid etc panels or repair original panels.
Where would you get new panels from?

it all depends how bad the panels are .as some new panels are very expensive.

I'd be more inclined to buy good straight second hand genuine panels if I could.....The after market panels are usually made from inferior quality metals in China or Taiwan.

I was suprised how many wreckers had brand new ford panels when I was ringing around, they seemed easy enough to get and around the same price as good 2nd hand ones.

If it's a car you want to be immac, and plan on keeping then get hold of either new, or VGC secondhand genuine panels.

Aftermarket panels are cheap for a reason, and although I've used the aftermarket option quite a few times myself, if I actually cared about the results I wouldn't - they generally look crap, don't align well, are a slightly different size and cut, and quite often body lines aren't as pronounced.
