interesting, i swore they were the same

considering they use the same headlights, and grilles are interchangable between the models

They are the same bonnets. Ford say they are different part numbers so they can charge you more for a Fairlaine bonnet. EF/EL, NF/NL, DF/DL bonnets are the same, only difference is the grill and they are all interchangable.

While back I bought a Fairlane bonnet to fit on the wagon and it was a straight bolt up.

Some of the Higher series bonnets may have a cut out for a bonnet emblem but this will not stop you from bolting it up.

Why do you need a panel beater to fit a bonnet, try it yourself with a mate to help you hold it and it will fit. You may need to adjust the bolts on the hinges to ensure it aligns properly but that is all.

I have an ef fairmont bonnet on my NL fairlane and i bolted it straight on. Who needs a panel beater to bolt a bonnet onto a car anyway?
