Leave my car in a shopping centre car park...the trolleys seem to have a mind of their own it seems. Shocking photos but anyone got an idea of how much this will cost to fix?

If the damage is only limited to the rear quarter and not the door you will be looking at up to $400. Insurance is just a waste of time because it still affects your rating and no claim bonus because there is no one to pay for the damage. Plus the excess would probably be more then the actual cost to repair.
I hate shopping centres and trolleys. I've had too many knocks to my cars there. $$$$ |

As a general rule of thumb work on $400 per panel.

sounds like a smoan story
when parking at shopping centres, it pays to walk that little extra distance, and to park at the top of a slope so nothing rolls into you... on the note of how much it costs, did the carpark have security cameras? if so, perhaps ask if they can see who did the damage?

It wouldn't save you the cost of paying for the damage yourself. Shopping centres don't have insurance for to cover it $$$ and taking out a civil action against the person who caused the damage would be more costly with solicitor fees and court costs. Because people don't have personal insurance that covers any damage that they may cause to people or property. |

Not exactly true, Woolworths & Coles get these claims all the time, as they have a duty to insure their trolleys are not lose in the carpark where they may damage your car. However it would be unlikely the shopping centre themselves would accept a claim, more likely to direct you to the individual shops. Of course the supermarkets don't make this public knowledge.

Itd just be like hitting another car with your car and leaving the scene, if the cops get you, you have to pay for the damage.
If its abit of damage i'd chase it up. Some poofter C*** (who enjoys eating dog testicles) kicked my passenger side door and left a fkn huge dint today @ coles carpark. f**k spewing, theres nothin I can do about it... |

Hey Ace, I know what your talkin about. If the dent is not too big try one of the PDR guys that are making a mint at the present. I have just had some king sized hail damage dents taken out and you can't see where the damage was. My car is black so as you know the shallowest of dents showed up.
I know you didn't ask this question, but I thought it might be of some help to you and the other guys in this post. Don't know how much it will cost because insurance paid for mine, but if you shop around you could probably find a fair price - just depends on how much you like the finish of your car prior to the "dear sole" that crumbled your car. |

funny .. how many people do you see struggeling to fit into a car park spot when 25 m further there is a whole row of spaces. by the time they menouverd in the spot they could have walked 50m.

Fill out the forms. But having said this, not worth the time and effort involved... and that's assuming the shopping centre was willing to help you identify the culprit. Suck mate, looks pretty rough. Shop around with the panel beaters tho.

Yeah the door is fine ...i dont know how it was so restricted to just that area...its like someone has done it on purpose.. pricks.. the place doesn't have security cameras... my mate who is an apprentice panel beater told me he gets these jobs all the time and its a barstard to do because its not a straight area to beat out. Oh well... as long as it drives I'm happy for now... better this happening than someone jacking up the car and stealing my wheels.
