Hiya peeps,
I've got this little problem, which has been going on for...3 years now (since ive had my car).
Anyways, ive got a Dark Blue falcon, always been under cover. Always washed.
But when it rains, the day after, the rain drops dry up and it leaves stains up and down the car.
Now not just here and there, but the whole bloody car.
Im not too sure why it does this, but i dont really wanna be washing a daily driver every week or after every time it rains. (specially after ive already washed it).

I've heard of rust proof paint or what ever, but not too sure what they mean by this.
If anyone could help me out with this problem, or give me any tips on maintaining it, i would be ever so greatful.

Cheers, Doof.

The problem is owning a dark colour. I had the same with my navy blue EL.
Regular polishing will help as rain will run off easier.

Light colours do have the same, its just not as obvious.

I do not seem to have that problem with mine and it is Navy Blue but mind you I have mine cleaned and polished with the waterless carwash not saying that it will fix your problem but with dark cars the dust and marks will show up a lot eaiser then on say a White painted car.

i got the same problem with both my fairmonts both dark navi blue.
i found the best thing is to shammy the car down right after it stops raining. might sound dum but it works also keeps your car clean

Yeah i have the same problem with my navy blue lane, clean/weash my car spotless, then the slightest bit of moisture in the air or rain, and it sticks to it like s**t. and it looks f**k yet again.

All i can say is clean, buff, polish and just keep it as clean and as smooth as possible. Thats all we can do

as said before the only way to stop the marks forming is to dry the car after it gets wet every time but sometimes this is not possible so the best thing you can do is apply several coats of a good paint sealant and several coats of carnauba wax to stop the paint absorbing these marks (paint is like human skin, it absorbs stuff that is left on it to long). that way you can wash the car a few days later and all the marks will just wash off with no probs and no need to polish them out.
