Anyone able to give me any advise on removing the paint from the rear spoiler on a ED XR6/8 being rubber and due to the paint being cracked would sanding it remove it without rubbing back too much or the rubber part of the spoiler? or would paint stripper melt the rubber?
Anyone have any ideas how to easily remove the paint? also its in great condition and no bubbles where the bolts are so im off to a good start

i redid one last year, same problems.
i used a random orbital sander with 80grit discs, then 180grit took around 2 hours to strip back to rubber. i would avoid stripper as it soaks into the rubber and will fry any paint applied afterwards |

has the rubber in your spoiler bulged at all?if it has, save yourself the trouble and get a fibreglass copy, the mount bolts in the original spoilers are only mild steel, which rusts, bulges the paint which then cracks

no bulges nothing its in VGC apart from the paint cracking from when i removed it from the car and getting it ready to paint E3 poly green
