Hi guys,

This is in regard to my previous thread http://fordmods.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=50537.

I have finally got around to painting my brake calipers, and I have to say a big thankyou to those who gave me some pointers in that last thread!

I got myself some degreaser, caliper paint, a wire brush and some masking tape to do the job and it worked out great. I cleaned my very dirty calipers, and used the masking tape and plastic bag to cover everything up, that was a great idea and worked flawlessly!

I have only got the front done at the moment, and will get onto doing the rear tomorrow.

Here are some progress pics, looks better in person though!

You should have tried polishing I did xruteboys without taking them off and they looked great. EF only have alloy rear but BA on and XF XG are alloy and only take about an hour per wheel.

Looks good mate. I like your SR front too, i have the same kit on mine. Are you going to get the rest of the kit? I got my whole SR kit pretty cheap on ebay.

Well it's the second day I've been working on these calipers now, and it was time for the rears to be done.

I used another whole can of degreaser cleaning up the very dirty calipers and rotors.

The rear rotors were all rusty and yuck so they got a nice coat of black, while the calipers were again done in red.

Found a mound of red dirt (so that's where it was coming from when i cleand it!) that was like rock on top of the rear spring.

Pics attached.

Thanks mate!

I bought this car 6 months ago, and it was evident there had been a minor prang in the front as the front plate is a little rippled.

They must have changed the front bar to this one and quite honestly until your post I did not realize it was not the standard bar! But after a little research with google, I'm pretty happy I do have this front bar, looks much better then the standard one :)

So in response to your question, no I haven't looked into getting the rest of this kit as of yet.

I envy your pretty black car with cool headlight covers and sweet rims tho :)

can XG front calipers be retro fitted to ef? cos the polished calipers on the green ute looked hot... if not then i might colour code my calipers to the body colour of my car..
