id say this would be the right section...

i installed my POD filter today. i have had this idea for this for a while now but didnt want to hack up the box. but i thorght what the hell.. if it doesnt work ill buy a new one lol...

well it ended up pretty well.

i had to cut almost thos whole box open lol. i tried to keep as much of the top frame as possible but i ended having to cut part of it as the pod filter wouldnt fit under it.

from the top it looks factory untill you step closer and then you can see it.

there is a gruntier noise from the engine bay now and i swear the exhaust is deeper note too. possibly as it isnt starved of air like it was with the panel filter full of grease...

ill hopefully get time to take it for a spin tomorrow and see how it goes on the road...

na i didnt oil it. i got it as it is on my old car. i took it off and it sat on my shelf till yesterday. is there a cheap way of oiling them? i only have like 10 bucks to my name... pulls harder now.

and i wanted to keep the top of the box. u used to have it sitting straight off the TB... but i added an intake pipe. then sold the car lol. i had a full metal panel ready to bolt in place to keep the heat away. ill get there one day. for now this will do

For now, you could use diluted (possibly use diesel to dilute) ATF. But really you should use a K&N Filter oil kit, about $25. Has oil & cleaning compound in it.

If you don't oil it, you will dust your engine, and engines aren't cheap.

Yes you can, thats whats on mine. Who told you that sh!t.
I've lost count of how many engines I have seen dusted by not puting oil on them.
The oil provides the medium to capture the fine dust.
Here's a pic of a dusted engine.

Mix some ATF & diesel fuel together, so its really runny, and put it in a squirty bottle and spray it on the filter. Uniformally.

Yeah, doesn't matter, just do it. And get the K&N stuff later.
