hey again. There are barely any good looking rims to fit Pre AU falcons. If i get the 35mm Pre AU Spacers would that mean i can fit most modern rims to my car?

good ones are not dangerous, but yes they are illegal.
the reason they are not dangerous is the hub is never the thing that brakes its always the cheap s**t studs they use in them, so you can/could just swap out the studs for good ones.

the studs are stilled spported by Alloy, as opposed to the steel there normally supported on.

i am yet to see the alloy ever fail on spacers, its always studs that were cheap and dangerous that snap 3/4 of the way up the stud.

i know this is a bad example, (but the loads would be greater....) drifters who use spacers that i know when they get/got them they put factory/high tensile studs in and never have had any dramas of braking or wheels flying off etc...

35mm of alloy versus the thickness of the disc. how many hub adaptor failures have you seen where the stud either deforms the adaptor or is torn from it?

it's never the adaptor itself that fails, only the studs.
and i am yet to see a failure that hasn't been caused by 'operator error'.
that doesn't change the fact they are illegal though, and there is potential for your insurer to deny a claim.

edit: in short, i agree with everything SVD115 just said

Bump. Ok question is, what chances are there of them breaking with just general street use? i dont smoke the tired up very often, if at all.. i dont care about them being illegal lol. Half my mods arent legal.

umm... if done properly with good studs, the same odds of your wheel studs failing, if not done properly with s**t studs, same as s**t studs braking, the chunk of steel doesnt change anything its almost all up to the studs.

there are quite a few people here running them, myself included. have had them on for over 2 years now without a drama. ive seen cars at the drags with them too.
make sure they are 35mm with 1/2" studs and nuts.
i use loctite on the nuts holding the adapters to my discs, recently took the adapters off just to check them out and there hasnt been any signs movement at all, so im leaving them on.

good ones are far from dangerous as the Porsche gt3 has them.
but they would be noticed if they where painted black or the rim covered them nicely.
