If you do it properly you can! Once youve cut out the bracing, use the piece you cut to patch the fresh cut. If you do it properly it looks like it was never touched

Basically the rules are, the scoop isnt supposed to be any bigger than a coke can on its side( rough estimate), and from the drivers seat you can see clearly an area about 10 metres in from of the car, or something like that. Been a while since i got pinged for a scoop so maybe it has changed

I don't think you're going to get pinged for an XW GT scoop. After all, it was a factory fit originally. What they're mainly down on is "blocks of flats" stuck on bonnets which would impair drivers' vision and also do increased harm to any pedestrian who happens to be rolling across your bonnet after you've hit them!
As for bonnet ribbing, I often have to cut out the secondary ribs when fitting bonnet scoops, but it's not wise to interfere with the main ones, as bonnet sag my result.
Cheers, Bob

well the scoop has been bought and will be delivered shortly.. ill take some shots of it dummied up on the car for some oppinions,, if its doesnt suit my purpose, or looks out of place back on ebay she goes lol..

i think it should be right height wise, im hoping itll be quite subtle anyway.. im not a particular fan of scoops, but its either that or aircleaner through the bonnet which could have its disadvantages in a street driven car..

cheers for the thoughts..pics too come when i get the parts..
