It would be like when you rub a plastic rod with a woolen cloth and it has a charge causing small dust to attract to the rod

but whenever I wax my car, which is fairly regularly, it attracts annoying amounts of dust

There's the same principle in action, maybe it's worth it if you wax your car on a regular basis just to undo the positive charge, but there could be a cheaper solution that doesn't require battery power, it might just be a case of earthing the chassis after each wax?

Unfortunately I'm no an electro physicist, maybe an auto electrician will have some ideas?

everytime he gets zapped the charge is discharged onto another words get zapping ;) and when zapped the body goes back to normal charge...which won't attract dust, but will sit and collect dust pulled down by gravity.

phong =P~

But now he will collect dust :shock: and the car will stay clean...
