The paint on my car is shagged in places. You can see a white ghosting on the roof, and places like the front bumper the paint is physically damaged. When I bought the car I knew I'd have to do something about paint. It really looks like I need the whole thing resprayed, I want to go for phantom purple, but this is expensive so I'm wondering what you guy think. What would you do?

i was just looking at the picture and realised the bonnet looks bed, the paint despite how it looks is fine on the bonnet, the only ghosting is on the roof. But there's at least one small chip on every pannel. So how much is a respray, I know it can be done for 3k properly (removing glass etc.) But I don't have that much money atm, so I'm looking at masking and only spraying exterier (eg. not engine bay or inside doors, just what's visible from outside)

File comment: note damage on front bar, probably from when it has been towed at some stage of it's life

when I bought the car, I had it detailed inside and out for $140 and it came up nicely, but after a while all the inperfections came out again. I would recommend it if the paint damage was only really light. And then you'd have to polish it every week to keep it looking good.

If you get it done make sure the paint is stripped to bare metal on the area's that are affected and make sure you see it in bare metal.
