hey,picked up a really nice set of 17inch chrome multi studs 4 my ef,but wont fit without spacers. i know they're illegal,but i dont have the cash to buy new rims. whats every1's thoughts on the safety of spacers?

just spacer's or adapters with the thread lugs in them? ive had the latter.. for a couple of years.. even drag raced on them no worries...

Yeah as long as you buy the good ones not the cheap a*** ones they are fine. I have had mine on for over a year now, no problems. I think it all comes down to the user not the spacers. (unless they are cheap ones

)

also making sure you have the matching supplied wheel nuts with them.. as they can easily undo as i have found out with non original nuts bolted to the adapters.. also.. watch out for the lugs shearing in half... happened twice to me.. (leaving only 4 bolts holding the rim on)

Been running adaptors for nearly 4yrs and had no issues.
I get the wheel socket out once a week and check all the nuts (same as I would without adaptors) and have only found one loose nut after having tyres replaced.
