Hi felllas just wondering if someone can help me out in regards to finding a steel bonnet for a EL fairmont with a XR8 bonnet bulge in it. I know you can purchase the fiberglass crap, but I dont want to go through all the issues associated with fiberglass.

How would you go about a custom one? As far as I know you can only find the bulge made out of fiberglass.
Does anyone sell a steel bulge that can be welded on to a normal bonnet? |

i had a ed bonnet that had a steel bulge welded into it...
the bulge was cut from a damaged xr8 bonnet.... |

There's a mob in ferntree gully (melbourne) that do aftermarket steel BA bonnets with the bulge.
I'm not sure if they do other models (I find it unlikely) but it's worth a shot? I don't know the company name, sorry, just remember a mate of mine got a bonnet from them. Worst case scenario it might be easier than finding a legitimate steel bonnet to slice up? |

Even if they can supply with the steel bulge it would be great. New after market BA/BF XR8 bonnet will set you back from between $375 to $400. Only other way is to check around for a damaged bonnet. Steel bulges are not available on their own. |

Ferntree Gully Auto Salvage
They don't make the aftermarket bonnet, but they stock it, apparently. They're a wreckers, so the might have genuine ones there too. Not sure if it will be a viable option for you or not, but hope it helps. |
