Looking to make customy like rear light things. dont like the Tezza's cause they are just clear plastic and dont go with a dark colour.
want to use a ef set on the el because the orange clashes with the blue. Wanted to do something like this, inside but because it is not smooth, wont be seen. 
anyone have any ideas on how i could do this? or how i could get the lenses off to start with? if i can get enough info and help i'll give it a shot and do a tect doc on it Cheers[/img]

Yeah I had a similar thought a while ago but never really had the time to shop around for bits. I was kinda inspired by the Skyline look. I thought of making a custom fibre glass housing with lights sunk into it (gun barrel style like the EF XR head lights) with the housing colour coded to the car of cource. Would look smicko and very different.

i know theres a trick to getting the lens cover off.
id only really use this method as a last resort. heat up an oven, put in the lights (not sure for how long). this will melt the glue that has been used to stick the cover onto the light. this is a very messy job with all the strands of glue and s**t commin off. good luck mate dave

Getting the lens off involves a warm oven, sharp knife, asbostos fingers, and patience. But it can be done.
