Correct me if I'm wrong -- and I probably am -- but doesn't that stuff also absorb some heat and prevent your bonnet from being as toasty as your engine?

all it does is cut down on noise from the engine i believe, pretty sure glis and xr's didnt get it. well i know xr's dont have it

Yeah my Ghia doesn't got it, I'll get round to getting one cause damn the bonnet gets hot, black plus heat equals no water ever on my bonnet :)

my new intake piping hits and is a mess... I would like to keep the shielding but it is deteriorating pretty badly. Would look a lot cleaner without it
