very very easy...

+ 1 can of "tint shade" (spray can)..
some electrical tape to get creative...
news paper for covering the excess over spray usually landing on the ground of the garage..
mediem screw driver to remove the two phillips head screws...

an hour or two of spare time...

That depends what car he/she has. Could be an EA - ED meaning he/she won't have 2 phillip head screws but rather 4 x 8mm (or 10mm?) bolts to remove the tail lights :P.

If you do have an EF/EL and this is your first time removing the tail lights, then after you remove the 2 screws you will have to tap the assembly out, it is held in by a socket type thing. I think you hit it side ways (ie. not towards the rear) to pop it off. Someone correct me.

Besides that...the fordfreak pretty much covered it.

phong =P~

Should the lights be sanded down first?

Should ring ahead in let the cops know that they should write out your default notice, its pretty but its illegal.

I thought that you can tint your lights as long as you leave the reflector free from the tint. My mate got done by the cops and they told him what was and what wasnt legal.

I had red and Amber bulbs in place to I was alright, and below the lights on a BA there is a red reflector, but they are gone now anyway, purchased new ones from the states, got sick of buying red bulbs and dyeing them all the time.

Its not so much the reflector issue with tinting ats how much light the tint lets through, you can argue with the cops all night that the can says iot wont effect the transmission of light, don't mean they wont give you a fine, or worse.

Yeah, fair enough. I wasn't planning on completely blacking them out, was just going for a light tint.

So anyways, has anyone had any experience with doing this? Any advice/tips??

I'm not saying dont do it, if its a light tint I cant see them having a problem, but If someone is doing something that draws attention to their car for he wrong reason then there is no one else to blame, Trust me, been there.

if you dont care about the legalities, then i would buy a spare set of tailights and spray them...... so if you do get spoken to about them you can just swap them over instead of trying to get the s**t off your originals
