snowflakes come with a plastic liner in them. if your doing around town driving, heavy braking, towing etc, take it out. my brakes got so hot they mushroomed over the top of the calaper all way round on the front

You either need to replace the studs with short 1's EA-ED or have the nuts drilled and tapped.

They look like someone's Nanna dropped her knitting needles in the middle of the tyre then flattened them with a rolling pin.

retro fitting is fine. going the other way is not.
