Hmm... i didnt see those pics on the bottom of the 1st page.
i see you did have to raise it, looks incredibly tough on the car though.
IMO looks better then the BA XR ones due to the more squarish lines on the bar itself.

depending on the bar you use you can also plastic weld it, an 80W soldering iron (and good ventilation) works very well, along with some fiberglass on the rear to add strength

Thanks Mate. I did raise it more soto even out the lines from the front bar to the side skirts. TE/TS skirts are bulkier and deeper than the BA skirts and this is flowed on from the front. By raising it by about 20mm I evened out the look and it also gives just that little more clearance at the front. Fiberglass is good just a little less forgiving that plastic.

I overlapped my bars using the recess that is in the EF/EL bar where the inserts are, that allowed me to use the urethane, I use Locktite as it is supposed to be better than Sikaflex and adheres to bumperbar plastic better. Before I "Glued" I roughed the surface with a wire brush in my electric drill. Removed all the paint etc and roughed the plastic, this gives the urethane something to "grip". I then used srews to hold every thing while it cured and then took them out before I fiberglassed. Locktite is dearer than sikaflex and takes up to a week to cure properly, but IMO it is worth it. I also roughed the plastic before I fiberglassed and also made sure that the Fiberglass bar was clean before glassing. Fiberglassing is not hard as long as you follow the directions. Use gloves, in a well ventelated area "outside" and use paper cups to mix the resin and disposable brushes, you are not going to reuse them after LOL. Do not fiberglass on a wet day, you finished product will be crap and not as strong. Think about what you want to do, measure, price and when you are ready go for it. If you need help just ask, one of us will have the anwser.

Hi guys, Progress continues, bar is all bogged up and sanded, I hate that s**t, and a light coat of primer. Tomorrow I am spray puttying the bar and hand sanding then undercoat. I am also going to do the fog light mounts, so the Fairmont will loose her bar and I will fit the new bar by Monday. Here's a few more pics.

Back again, more work done. Have been working on the ReBar and Fog Light mounts. Had to trim the rebar a little so all would fit, this was caused by reducing the depth of the bar by 25mm thus reducing the clearance for the ReBar. All is done, didn't realise the thing was plastic though. Also fabricated the fog light mounts and they are fitted to the Bumper Bar Mounts. All welded and no flex. Here's a few more pics of the progress.

Well the Bar is finally on, painted in Satin Black till I get round to final paint. A little bit of work still to do on the sanding side but overall I am very happy with the look. Here are a few pics, hope you like what you see.

Stock engine, 2.5" cat back exhaust, EL GT snorkel, King superlows all round, 17" BA XR series 2 copies in correct offset. It's my daily drive and she will do me.
