Hey guys,

Most of you by now would know i own an AU3 TE50.

Most of you will also know than any ford v8 (at least the XR range) has that large plastic (or in my case fibre glass) cover over the engine..

I was thinking of getting the Aussie Flag sprayed over this large relatively flat (and boring) piece.

What are your opionons? I dont just mean a square lookin flag, i mean a professionaly sprayed flag that sorta looks like its wavin....if ya know what i mean?? sorta like this? (see below)

On one hand i want to personalise the car and i reckon would look great when u open the bonnet, wow factor.....but on the other hand i know a lot of people will tell me its best to keep it stock. Just after some opinions?

I would leave it stock if it was me. But if you want it done then you should try and get another cover and do it on that so that you can keep your original one as well.

two covers is a great idea.. -so as to have one as a spare..

although is the aussie flag on the engine cover portraying the car as aussie? or the engine? (American origins) get my drift?

well.....

car is aussie i spose....despite the fact the engine is yank and ford is yank.....

i dont mind your idea of the 2 covers tho. i hate to think what i would be charged tho for a new cover.

having the cover off, i must admit is ugly. all u see is a mess of distrubitor cables.

i'd personally spray a big ford logo on it instead of the flag but hey, it's your car.

well its important to remember that u wouldnt see any 'colour' behind the flag....im only so good at photoshop (lol)

the intake is alloy. it can be polished up. not to a brilliant chrom (unless it is actually chromed = big $$$) but as per normal alloy it can be made pretty shiny
