Ran into the local authorities yesterday and wondered if any WA members had any info regarding this legislation or whether it even exists ?

I've had a good look through the DPI website - bulletins, forms and publications.

Have got a few pages to check on the DOTARS/ADR website but wondered if anyone knew of this being WA specific...never had an issue with the Police/RTA/Engineer in Canberra.

Ta Kev

Yeh their is...why I dont think you can run the BA/BF series V8 supercar wing replica on standard road use B series falcons...

Nah mine is actually a universal T wing seen mostly on holdungs....will see if i can get a pic up...its bull s**t tho...cant see how it would injure anyone apart from in an accident where the wing would come thru the rear windscreen but thats gonna do some serious damage regardless.

See the shot below - its a joke

Spoiler doesnt look that bad at all. Personally if some wank decides he wants to hang him self infront of that thing and get hooked up its his own fault. I really cant see how it would be a problem if it were the same width as the boot.

yeh so many dodgy things happen but oh well just have to cop it on the chin and go from here...just happy it wasnt defected....but yeh wing is fine width wise it doesnt overhang any of the guards so in that regard its all fine.

Also wings so long as they meet that regulation can 'normally' be added to a vehicle without approval.

The copper just reckoned those screw on fibreglass side pieces are to pointy on the edge that points towards the rear window....I will talk with the WA Traffic guys about it anyways...

Well kev like you said that it can only injure someone when in an accident.

I found out that if you dont have a front bar on in SA then you can get booked because without a front bar it sucks ped's under the car instead of over the bonnet.

This ped rule also applys with bonnet badges like fairlane ones and the ones you get on the jag's and some merc's, they have to be able to fold down cause they can cause serious injury.

But i think the wing isnt too excessive because you see much worse on ricers. What is the ricer situation like over in WA. I know there are a fair amount of performance cars like ferrari's and lamborghini's.

I think in NSW if a pedestrian can have a part of their bodies eg hands caught then it is deemed dangerous and illeagal also any sharp pertusions fitted or due to damage are teated the same way.

In saying that you could see 10 different police and get 10 different answers.

I was once pulled over for a random breath test and the officer told me my my bike that had just been over the pits was to loud and the pipe to short and all I told him was to take it up with the RTA as they approved the rego as it sat. I never was qestion from then on.

My daughter was pulled up late December for only having 1 P plate and when I rang the police station I was told that she should put the one P plate on the rear not the front and it would be alright. Don't know what the differance was but one General duties ( they booked her) and there Sargent have different ideas on the same prroblem.

All it takes is one officer in a bad mood and even a stocko car is illeagle.
