Hi guys, just bought an EF XR8 and am looking to tint it.
Dont want to go too dark in case it looks wrong, you guys got any pics of your white cars with tint and also what % light they let through if you know? Cheers PS first post!

1st up, welcome
depends on the whole package i think, like it would look good with rims that have black parts generally, i think tinting looks good no matter what

Darkest legal blue tint cant go wrong. would almost look good on a commodore....nah thats going abit far. but yeah it will look good go for it. Both my fairmonts have dark tinting and the rest is stock and it looks tops.
so will look good on an XR.

how much does it cost for tinting?

ine is darkest legal in WA, done about 6yrs ago, see the gallery
edit, actually that angle it doesn't look dark at all, but it is, and the thing on the back is a window sock for bubs.

20% looks nice on white cars. Molley* has got that. but then again.. Ambulance tint always looks nice.
keeping in mind that isnt legal. |

Cheers PS first post! 35% is the darkest legal your allowed to get but each film differs. I find the non metallic ones to look a little darker than the metallic film. If your looking for someone to tint your car I can do it for $200. An extra $90 to strip old tint off as well. PM me if you want more info.

What % is that fordfreak ef? it looks really good. The tinting on my ghia is pretty much non-existent.

limo tints is 5% but i reckon its hard to drive with it at night.
20% is a little lighter but still illegal.

I have 5% on my rear window ... being a ute/commerical vehicle I am allowed as dar kas I like on the rear window.
But I have 20% on the side windows though ... 35% was too much a difference to put on next to the 5%. I don't have an issue really at night either. Nice and dark during the day ... and good security-wise when parked in the city doing courier work ... can't see in the cabin.
