Some windscreen shops will polish the screen to remove minor scratches.

hmmm forget where i was at, think it might have been kmart, but they had some sort of crap you can put on your windscreen and it claims to fix minor cracks and scatches. looked some some sort of syringe with a suction cup on the end, have no idea how it worked, but from memory it was cheap!

Hmmm, I should probably get onto that little crack I have in my windscreen (bloody semi!). Because coupled with my rooted suspension and Brisbane roads, she will grow quite quickly.

If the crack is old, the repair will not work that well. Best to be fixed early.

I get a new screen every year, compliments of my insurance co.

From what the repair shops will tell you, its about keeping the chip/crack clean. Once dirt get in the crack will remain visable even after being repaired. I would think six months would be enough to contaminate the crack. Bear in mind that a crack or chip in the drivers half of the screen is unroadworth and can't be repaired legally.

Ah, it's like middle/left hand side of windscreen. Have to get motor sorted before that though.

I'd recommend replacing it Till.

Seriously, you dont know the meaning of clear vision until you've driven with a brand spanking new windscreen!!!

Also guys, remember that chips/cracks in the wrong spots will see the windscreen snap in two at a moment's notice. Also - compromised windscreens can be nasty with airbags, in the unfortunate chance that you have an accident.

I agree, even if you have to pay for the screen yourself, they are only about $180 fitted. First and last time I had a screen repaired it cost $65 and that was a long time ago. A week after getting it repaired it was damaged again.

For scratches, I recommend novusaust.net.au
Gave holdenlover the details on them

But yes 4.9 EF is right, get cracked screens replaced. They are not that expensive anymore.
