I've got a pair of XR bonnet flutes that I'm going to get put into the EF. Talking with the bodyworks when i booked it in, he's not sure how they go in.

His words were - it's easy enough to just cut a hole and put them in, but how did they come out of the factory? I can't imagine that they would just cut it and leave the edge 'raw'.

I agree! So has anyone got photos of how their flutes are installed into an XR bonnet?

XR bonnets had a recess with a lip that the vents bolted to. In effect, they were sunk into the bonnet. The aftermarket ones aren't too difficult to fit. The trick is to take time with measurements and ensure they're in the same place both sides.
Cheers, Bob

are they originals with the backing plates as well? as bob said the bonnets have a lip in them so the vents fit flush, im not sure how easy that would be to replicate :?

You won't get them on to a standard bonnet. You'll need an XR bonnet. Bet you bought them from a wrecker, who just happened to have a pair of vents from a buggered bonnet!
cheers, Bob

not quite.... got them from ebay! my thinking was that they should go in as the standard EF bonnet was used for the EF/EL XR's so they should fit! i wonder if insurance will pay for a new XR bonnet......
