umm what are HID lights? and yeah.

Xenon gas high intensity discharge, they burn a different gas to normal halogen allowing cooler temperatures and more pure light output.

Dave, as long as you align your lights properly, you'll be fine.

hey, would changing to HID's solve the old EF/EL yellowing headlights?
arnt they caused by the temperature output of the headlights?

It will not solve the yellowing process of the headlights. All EF's will eventually have faded yellow lights. they will go quicker if the car is parked in the weather. The yellowing is caused by water and the lements weathering the plastic.

I had HIDs in my EL for the best part of a year. They're well worth the outlay, as the E series lights are all pretty poor. I had no problems with the police*. As such I've got HIDs in my GT-P now too.

Wouldn't go back to regular halogen bulbs ever again.

* Make sure they're aimed properly, and not the uber blue/purple ones. Stick to 6000K or lower.

I cant believe your running HID's in the GT! I thought the quality and output of the light for such model would be fantastic?

No one i know with an EF/EL XR has anything good to say about their headlights...

When I first used my HID's, it was annoying the other drivers. There is a simple solution, which is just to change the beam direction, so that it is a bit lower. This only needs to be done on the drivers side. Every car would flash me as if I was running my high beams.

Me too. When I took my XR front off and put the original GLi front back on my car, I started to use normal halogens. The poor light p****d me off, so I re-installed my HID's, just behind the original reflectors

Yeah the B series headlights are great stock (in comparison to the E series). But HIDs make them that much better again.

I got mine from the ebay seller 'onlinegarageauto'

Have had no problems with them, but they've only been in the GT-P for 2 months.
