i just bought a ba mk2 xr6 in shockwave blue and the paint is starting to flake when i wash it.. is the rumour true that ford received a bad batch of primer and thats why the paint is flaking?, and if so how should i go about getting it fixed? talk to my local ford dealer or get it re sprayed through another mob? thanks!

make sure its flakeing off 3 or more panels ( high pressure hose is good for it).
contact your local ford and get it booked in for a free full re-spray,.

my car wouldn't be under warranty, does that matter? and would it cost me a fortune?

Not sure about warranty period, but my son had his done last year, as it affects all Shockwave cars

it was a official national recall so warranty doesnt count.
and free.
