Can anyone tell me the best way to install 6 inch speakers in the front doors of an EA falcon.

I want to keep it looking pretty stock, so I thought maybe geting some of the speaker holder molds, the ones rivited into the door, from an EB might work.

I was going to do the whole EF fairmont door trims and electric windows thing too. But it seems like quite a bit of work.

take off the door trim and drill out the pop rivets that hold in the 4-inch box. then you can just screw in the 6-inch speaker. the only problem i had when i did mine was the speaker cover that came with the speaker wouldn't go on because the door wouldn't close with them on.

Have you thought about fitting Fairmont EF front doors? They have all the parts and fittings you need for power windows and 6" speakers?

I don't know about that. I would do the ef fairmont door trims. But everyone's doing it and there don't seem to be that many around. I would also do the electric window instalation as well.

Do 6 inch speakers fit into EA doors?? i understand cutting would be involved, but do they fit??
I've heard mixed reports about if they do or not, most tell me to install EF doors.
I planned on using EF trims anyway, but i didnt really want to do through the hastle of having doors painted and fitted if i didnt have to.
I have door-trim mounted pods on the trims with my 6inch splits now, but i want to put the speaker into the metal of the door.
Thanks
David

I fitted 6" speakers to my EB 1 yesterday. All I did was drill out the rivets holding the 4" box, and fitted the speakers in that space , with them pointed toward the seat. I had already purchased the EB XR6/8 door trims, so the 6" grille came with them. Looks schmik imo.
