Hey guys i got an EF XR and i was wondering how to get to the fan, as in the inside fan for the heater and so forth. It makes a noise like there is a leaf stuck in it or like if you stick the end of a piece of paper into a computer fan. It happens intermitently and cant be ficed with a love tap. It is also comming from the passenger side footwell if that helps.
Thanks in advance
George

compressed air.
flush it out.

sooner or later it'll dry up, crack and blow out, usually when you need the fan on your face and somehow... the fragments always get your eye.

Strangely enough, i got bit last year... whilst rubbing my left eye, i got shafted with the right... terrible!

In the EA I can reach under the dash on the passenger side (obviously when the car's switched off) and at the very left, there is a flap that you can push giving access to the fan. I've had to do it a few times to remove leaves. I wouldn't think the EF would be that different.

I've got the same thing in my passengers footwell. I had a leaf stuck in mine a while ago. sometimes it would be deafening and other times you couldn't hear it at all.

I found putting the fan on high for a while helped. I think it may still be in there so i'll be opening that flap soon too

I have this same problem with the leaves in the fan, but it happens quite often. Could there be any reason for this? A filter perhaps that has broken down?

Pull the fan speed controller out and stick a vacuum hose in there and suck out all the leaves and crap. Worked for me.
