OK so i got the melting wire situation under control

refer to http://www.fordmods.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=45008

so my next question is this.... i originally connected my ammeter in series between the alternator and battery. worked fine well seemed 2, did everything it was meant 2, just the wires were melting!!!!

any way put some bigger gauge wires in, bla bla bla, connected the same way but didnt work now!!!!! every thing still works, car runs and all that, jus the ammeter gets no reading!!!!

my hunches are this:

i melted something inside the gauge (but it still moves when an artificial circuit is made)

connections are wrong (double checked tripple checked worked b4 y not now)

OR god hates me and is out 2 get me!!!!!!

ive said b4 im no auto elec. HELP PLZ
