Laying out some plans for a project at moment and was wondering if anyone knows if the firewalls in the AU & BA's are the same?

Wanting to know this as will make LOT easier to do complete BA interior conversion if i can bolt everything BA in there and run the complete BA's wiring loom

firewalls are completely different... only the bolts near the door jam are the same... even the floor plan is different ( handbrake and center console mounts), its still a easy mod... the AU heater box fits behind the ba dash, BA airbags work of the AU airbag control unit, Door trims are a easy fit

So firewalls are completely different - ok cool

Will the BA electrics run the AU heater box etc?
I'm going to bolt on the BA doors with electrics so doorcards are no problems

This is why i think running the whole BA loom will be easier than trying to mod the AU loom to run all the BA accessories

I realised the floors etc are different though, will be adapting the BA rear seat to the AU frames so will all fit in properly

Handbrake i will be looking at once i have the car pulled apart, i can see there's going to be some customising done here lol

As far as i can see i may need to put different connectors where tail lights/headlights go etc

Any other info you'd like to chime in, would be greatly appreciated

Cheers

check out my post on rear seats in my ba conversion thread... its not really worth tthe effort... AU heater box will not work with BA electrics... ba doors will not close with au dash and id guess you would have trouble trying to mount a BA heater box on a AU firewall... my next thought would be try use a AU Fairmont heaterbox(climate control unit) (electric climate control, not cable and vacume hose) and wire up the buttons to a BA fairmont icc

Whole BA dash will be getting used so no problems in shutting doors etc... Good idea on using fairmont heater box from AU, will look into that further

I'll check your thread again concerning rear seat, i will need to put matching rear seat in rear though as will not look right without it. Maybe will need to custom make the AU seat and use the BA cover or something

How's the AU hanbrake fit along with BA console? Any clearance issues etc?
Maybe i may just leave the AU handbrake in place if it doesn't look out of place

Cheers for your help mate, much appreciated

AU Ghia MOMO option wheel, feels as good as it looks. 8-)

Just not so keen on those doortrims, Although I assume there work in progess still, but theing i hate most about the au door cards are those flimsy handles, by the way anybody no if the airbags are just dummied up?
