Not entirely true... the AU's are probably the easist to fit.. just pull the backs and bottoms off the AU mech and bolt it to the EL mech, then bolt them into your car as per originals...

I know this because I did it.

you are correct ash... the AU mech has nothing in common with EF/EL, however, the back and bases are more or less identical.. .it takes about 20 minutes to swap the mechs over and you have AU seats in your EF/EL..

yep... dead easy...


The back seat however is considerably more interesting... to get the side thingy's to to fit, you have to remove the E series locking bars as the AU bollards don't fit over them... I posted a howto on this already but I can't remember where it is so I'll just do another one sometime.

It's not super hard.. but more so than the front was...

basically the way the seat backs lock, as well as the bollards and the bottom are all different..

The seats themselves are all the same size/shape, but the AU mouldings are plastic verses steel on the EL.... and the mounting points are different... I'll see if I can find where I wrote about it.

end result came out well I think...
