Ok question after searching 112 Pages of Interior Mods is can the Au Center console go straight into an EB that is an AUTO ? I Know it goes straight into manuals but I tried but it wouldnt seem to fit after i was told it was a standard swap ! I got it from a wreckers but when i tried to fit it the auto shifter was in neutral and would not go any further up because the hole was not up far enough but im fair sure it was as far as it could go. So i returned it to the wreckers but i am hoping this mod is not over, other wise i will have to custom make some drink holders !

Edit: Shifter was in Neutral not reverse so even worse !

it does work, you need to move the console back about 2 inches...

is your car manual or auto?

Auto

What do you mean move it back about 2 inches it needs to go forward so the shifter can go up into park let alone reverse

But the shifter rods are different from Auto to Manuals arent they?? and i though that, that was the reason mine wouldnt fit ! If so Has anyone done it without changing the shifter to something out of an EF/EL/AU?

just adding to this, any one added a EF center console to a ED, kinda stuck with how to bolt it down, kinda got a big screw atm threw the bottom, i think i may have drilled the transmission :(, but yerh getting it bolted down, and making it look half decent with the ED dash still, if thats possible, thanks boys (no girls on the internet)

I thought cutting it was only for the air ducts ! So even if i have an AUTO if i cut it down it will fit perfectly without getting rid of the EB shifter ?

OK i got it in ok with the Tbar situation but now my tbar is too small for the whole so what do i do about that because the Au one is mainly plastic and i think it is part of the shifter assembly so do i need to go for an EF/EL one? Are they thicker ? Oh also i just need to get the ducts done and then im sweet !

do you have access to a wreck at the wreckers? how hard would it be to get the whole tbar a** from an au and swap it for the EB one?

I have access to many wreckers but if i want it cheap and to get it myself i can go to Upull it but there arent Au's there, there are only EA-EL's the bottom half of the Au Tbar is plastic thats why i am confused !

Ok cool but the orange thing under the letters does not line up properly when shifting because of the hole that is bigger than the shifter ! What can i do about this before then?
