Hi all,

Just a quick one, how hard would it be to get AU seats to fit in an EL?

I can get a set of really nice AU seats cheap as dirt, but no good if I can't get them to fit the car.. was wondering if you can swap the rails over?

What about the back seat? any chance it will fit?

The front im pretty sure u can take the rails off and put the el rails on and they should go in. The back is a bit of stuffing around.

Hi SicXH,

was hoping for something abit more definate... cos I might score electric AU seats and matching rear and make some adaptors, but if the back doesn't fit, not much point in doing the fronts as it won't match up..

back might have changed significantly due to irs changing the cars underside in that area....

anyone know? searched fordmods but found nothing useful.

So it is possible, but I don't see anything saying what needs doing other than the bollards need adjustments...

I keep doing things the hard way.. perhaps its time to just wait till EL seats show up.. I've picked enough hard paths lately. (like my latest plan to install the digital ED dash modified into the EL dash with boost and oil pressure guages where the door open warning system was...)

If you can get the seats do it!

My EF has AU leather seats and there better then most of the stuff you'll be able to find in any e-series bah GT of course lol.

Simple, fronts are 100% fitment.

Rear Back fits in perfect, side bolsters leave a small gap but are ok.

Rear bottem half, need to make some sorta hook on the floor for it to hook in to, or simply get the mounts from the AU and fit to your floor pan (sorta sits into the chassis rail)

Also IRS and live axle have the same floor pressing as far as i know, just there are different bolt up points

When you say "a small gap" how small do you mean? Don't suppose you could get a photo for me mr nicskitz??

As for the IRS, I've just been reading this:
http://www.trueblueford.com//shane_el.html

and it's a tempting option for a later date..

Oh, I see, you mean this photo:

That gap could be sorted easily enough I guess.. I'll take a look at the AU seats next time I'm up there... who knows, I may well find myself fitting electric AU seats to my beasty...
