Hi all,

just bought a 99 AU series 1 (basic model) and i am having a problem with training the remote. (the old style like an ED)

Only got the car thursday night and the remote worked but the battery was just about dead. (had to stand close to the car)

After i changed the battery the remote wouldn't work, so i tried to 'train' it
as per the manual and this forum but the locks don't cycle to acknowledge the remote.
(Yes the remote lights up)

Before any of this i had removed the tape deck and installed a CD player (happen to blow a radio fuse in the process) and i have also noticed that the flashing light on the dash is not flashing (not sure if it was before).

The smartlock circuit seems to be working (lights dim down after door shut etc) car runs ....

Somebody suggested that the bulb in the dash could be blown. Would this cause the problem i'm having ????

you may have to take it to for and get them to plug in the ngs system to learn the key fob to the car

1. Switch the ignition form off to accessories
2. press the rear window button three times within 5 seconds. the door locks will cycle to indicate the system is in learn mode.
3. press the doors button on each keypad in turn.
4 turn the ignition off. the door locks will cycle the keypads are trained.
MAKE SURE YOU TRAIN ALL THE KEYPADS AT THE SAME TIME OR YOU WILL HAVE TO RETRAIN THEM ALL AGAIN  :P
