hey guys,
happy new year!

the old man's boot on his AU2 won't open with the interior switch or keyless remote. The only way to open the boot is by pulling the cord inside the boot.
Is it possible to repair the boot latch assy or do ya need to buy a new one? Ford sell them for $185, is there somewhere else (in Brissy) that may sell them cheaper?

cheers
Paul.

Ok, stand beside the bootlid with the remote, and try opening the boot. If you hear the electric soleniod operating (clicking), your latch is probably stuffed.
If you do not hear it clicking check the wiring.

If the wiring is all ok, fuses are not blown, and everything is hooked up. there is a chance the solenoid has broken.

Check out your local wrecker, they should be able to sell you a 2nd hand one for half the price Ford quoted.

Also ask xr8dismantler, go to, http://www.fordmods.com/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=24 , and ask.
