lol...mate skies the limit...all depends on how deep your pockets are and how much of it you're will ing to pour into the car.

Ive always like the AU TS50 leather interior with all the momo accessories....the feel is great and looks awesome too. And since the cars red go with the red/black setup....will look great...as far as cost you'd have to research that one

Just remember that if you are considering interior changes and they include the door skins that most high series have electric windows all around. If my memory serves SR's have electric in front only. So some extra mods would be required. It's not a hard job to go leather. I've done it in my wife AU II 75th Ann. Futura with a XR8 black leather interior. Looks sweet.

he asked for opinions on how to do his car up, not whether or not he should buy an EL..

I think the red and black interior would look good, but hard to find. You're better off going custom :)

I'd go..

T-Series Chrome Door Handles
T-Series Chrome Gear Selector Surround
Leather Handbrake
Momo Gear knob
Momo Steering Wheel
XR/Fairmont Dash, or White Dials
Leather Console Lid
Some Decent Car Mats

Get that lot done, and it'll improve your interior 100%!!

Or if you want to go the whole lot, get a Full Custom Interior, which will cost you minimum $2800.

Pardon my ignorance, but I'm also looking to do up my AU interior, was wondering where you would get some of the above from? Ford dealers? Wreckers?

No problem, From Ford Spare Parts:

BA SCUFF PLATES (Black or Grey) BA F13222 A1 (Right)
BA F13223 A1 (Left) 9.55/each

Scuff Plate CHROME INSERTS (Ford or XR) BA 29394 21.82

Chrome Interior DOOR HANDLES
(Fairmont, Fairlane & T-Series) ER F22600 B (Right)
ER F22601 B (Left) 25/each

Chrome Gear Stick Surround (Housing)
(Fairlane & LTD) NU 7A306 A 9.56

I forgot, a nice added touch would be the BA Scuff Plates...

The Momo Gear Knob & Steering wheel. Get them off ebay, as they are a heap cheaper than Ford.

Get the Leather Handbrake and Console Lid & Handbrake boot from a motor trimmers. Or you can get them from Ford for these prices:

Leather Console Lid
(Fairmont, Fairlane & T-Series) TAU F060A70 C 176.75

Leather Handbrake
(Fairmont, Fairlane & T-Series) ER 2760 B6 144.34

Leather Handbrake Boot
(Fairmont/Ghia, Fairlane Warm Charcoal) ER 2404 A6 40

You can get the XR/Fairmont Dash from a Wreckers or eBay. And the white dials from Ebay.

The Car mats, you can get from ebay, or a car shop.

Heres some photos of my interior with some of that gear...

T-Series Chrome Door Handles - $100
T-Series Chrome Gear Selector Surround - $10
Leather Handbrake - $150 (From Ford)
Momo Gear knob - $100
Momo Steering Wheel - $250+
XR/Fairmont Dash - $250 or White Dials - $100
Leather Console Lid - $150
Some Decent Car Mats - $100-150

But on top of that, I got the T-Series Door Trims, with the T-Series Door Spears ($90 each), not too sure if you can still get them too.

Thats roughly the prices there... Or did you mean for my gear? lol

I'd be looking around the $70-80 mark, for both.

I'm selling because, i'll have a Manual Gear Knob and Gear Boot there soon :) Probably around Feb/Mar, but if your interested Glenn, I'll make sure your the first to know.

Fairmont dash? or do you mean the cluster?

Some very nice modding LG :D

Was also wondering about the interior of my AU2, with what to do to it. I like the luxuries of the fairmont ghia, black interior with their lcd display panels to control temps and stuff.
But all I could afford at the time was the forte, still a nice car, but I dont plan on getting rid of it any time soon. Have always wondered how big a job/if possible would I be able to install a dash from a fairmont into my forte, I mean the whole lot.
I know you guys would be thinking just trade in the forte for a fairmont plain and simple :P, just gotta find the right colour and price.

Has anyone done a whole dash conversion nothing later then an EF/EL series preferrably?

But seriously though LG your cars an inspiration, good work :)

Also TheRealPyro I was thinking about the TS50 bodykit as well, until I discovered the xr50 pursuit bodykit on www.awcinfo.com, it just makes the car look a whole lot meaner in my opinion. Hopefully early next year I will have it on my forte will post pics of course :D

Sorry for the spam.

But LG do you have your steering wheel controls wired up to your stereo as well?
