I've been looking for sometime to replace my automatic shifter knob on my 4 speed auto - Its the knob with the button on the side.

Want to replace it with a leather one. Looked at momo (to match the steering wheel) but cannot get one with the selector button on.

Any ideas?????

Well I guess you can.... If the manual shifter is drilled out to the size of the shaft, and is just pushed on top, it can slide up and down, and therefore push the rod down. Bit dodgy, and most likely illegal but!

I don't reckon officer plod's really gunna notice.
I've actually seen similar things for sale. It was a manual looking gearknob, with a spring in it, just push the knob down to activate the button.
Otherwise try fitting a Magna one like someone else on ehre did.

I would keep the button, if you lock the shifter over the metal rod so that it is always pushed down you could accidently skip through to nuetral or even worse reverse.

Jam a spring in there blackjack_original, then you use the entire knob as a button.
