UPDATE:

i got out my old friends - gluegun and cardboard, i mocked up the deck everything is going to mount to and space isnt as much of an issue as first thought, i may have time this weekend to get some good quality 3ply (the deadly expensive stuff dorks use for remote control planes) and cut out the deck, then ive got to make a shopping list for stuff from jaycar, so far the projected cost of this mod is $250

this is the only pic ive taken so far, items in the top left are the decks cut out of 3mm MDF that everything will be mounted to (lower one goes on rear housing of cluster and upper one has all the guts from the gauges mounted to it) item bottom left is the gauge pieces mounted to the cardboard deck that i used to line evrything up and get measurements.

items over to the right are a modified dash piece to suit a 4" LCD that i have, i still dunno if im keeping this one for myself, and below that is my custom gauge pod, it goes where the cup thing is in front of the shifter panel in the fairmont type centre console, both will be painted matt black
