Does anyone know if it is possible to change the LEDs in a BA Dash.

im looking at getting a BA Futura or XT but i do not like the green base dash.

I wouldnt mind converting the ICC from green to blue either with out swaping to say a fairmont one.

You can't order XT's or futura's with premium sound. Also it'd be hard to change the LED's in an ICC as your not supposed to tip them, also they are worth a couple of grand themselves so i doubt it would be worth swapping it to a fairmont one to get rid of the green led's.

The XT and futura has a option to order them with Prestige Audio System with LCD display screen and 6 disc in-dash CD its an extra $685

Yeah thats not colour. You can't get colour on XT or futura, its just the normal sound system with the 6 stacker. The $985.00 optional Premium Audio System with colour display screen and 6 disc in-dash CD, Audio pep-pack - 150 watt amplifier and 150 watt sub-woofer is only available on XR and Fairmont to upgrade to.

oh i see, i was under the impression that "LCD" meant you get some upgrade of the standard screen to a colour one. I understand now

u could swap the ICC for one out of an XR fairly easily... but expensivly... plus the ICC's are trained to the car using a WDS thus meaning u basically need to be a dealer to fit the new icc... the car wont start until u train the ICC to the car either...

I don't knowwhere this was done and by who but....

Recently when I went thru the local Ford used car dealership there was a red BA ute. It had an after market front spoiler that fitted the BA XR headlights, looked different so I had a closer look. When I looked in side the dials were custom made in red sheet sheet metal with a crappy XR engraved on it. But it also had white lights behind it.

As i said, I don't know who done it or where but at least you know it has been done.

I thought all the XT instrument clusters glowed white? Only the ICC's are backlit green afaik..

In that case i'd say the green colour is on the cluster backing, not the colour of the globes.
