I've been thinking about changing the switch-surround from it's normal colour to the same aluminium silver as used on the BF inserts or on the silver ICC clusters (or as my sanded-and-sprayed BA inserts).

I've hacked up an mspaint job to get a feel for what it might look like.

On the main switch, I'm thinking that I should also do the cross between all the switches and the surround around the lockout switch, but I'm not totally sure yet.

Dodgy hacks attached.

coukld be a bit much!
however it would be unique - not that a bf fairlane interior and mirror/memory functionality in a ba xr8 isnt already!
LOL

You know, that last one is kinda growing on me. Done with the same clear lacquer as I've got on the manual gear surround and rear vent register - I reckon that makes it look heaps better!

I just have to complete the Blue LED conversion at the same time (auMatt was kind to me.)

Woodgrain would look nice.
Be a good challenge too.

Cosmetic small stuff like this for the interior of the BAs is something that always sparks my attention.

There's a seller on Ebay called bella_coco02 that sells a BA Sedan Chrome Enhancement kit, which includes chrome surrounds for the power window buttons. I've attached a picture so you can see what I'm talking about.

At the time of posting this reply, that seller has no items, but it might be worth sending them a message to see about costs etc.

Yeah, I've seen those. I recall prices prices around or over $300 so you have to be keen.

I'm just trying to match into the factory 'brushed aluminium' look, which requires some cleaning agent, a $20 can of paint from Supercheap, and another $20 can of clear.

Chroming is never cheap at the best of times. But I notice in that pic that the Drivers Door switches only have the surround done. I'll take notice of that advice.....

And I have some spare dash-switch surrounds, and a busted rear switch (thanks to a zealous 3yo). Those might be my guinea pigs.

Ha Ha! It's $600 delivered. That's NUTS. Plus, that's FAR too much chroming in my opinion. Too much of a good thing.
