hey all just got me self some ba xr seats for my ef and planing on connecting the electric seat up aswell would be good to have electric seats in an ef
 if any1 knows of this being done nd how to do it cheers james |

the electrics are the easy part.
just gotta make the rails fit the EF floor. BA rails are narrower then EF ones.

Yeah all you need is a positive and negative connected to 2 pins, so just hack into maybe something connected to accessory eg, cig lighter, or you could grab a constant etc. if desired, depending when you want to utilize it.

you'd just wanna make sure the wiring can handle the load.
i don't know what kinda amps the power seats use?

ohk then yeh i thought thats all there was a active n netural but i seen all this other cabling
and could some1 pls show me a step by step procedure on how to install the seats ?? cheers |

Yeah he didn't use overly large wiring, if you give me a picture of the plugs on the seat, I'll point out which one, it's a 4 pin plug, and just give it a try to determine what your chasing.
theirs another plug that does the airbag where fitted etc. although, like in my mate it' just had a blanking resistor, and I believe one for the seatbelt restraint system, which I believe is related to the airbag system, so neither are relevant. The rails and such I can't help you with as we fitted them in a lux not a falcon, so not to sure there, surprisingly easy to fit in a hilux.

Good luck getting the rails to fit.. they are totally different.. You probably have some welding in your future and then to be legal, an engineers cert....
you're better off getting a set of electric NF/DF and taking the rails and motors/wiring off them and bolt them onto the BA seats and ditch the BA rails.... that way the seats will then just bolt in. |

I'd recommend this method, then you just have to work out how to attatch the BA seats to the E-Series rails  electric seats are muuuuuuuch overrated.

attaching BA seats is apparently as easy as attaching AU seats to EL rails..and that is dead easy cos I just did it myself... my EL has AU SR seats in it and that was dead easy.. bolt holes all lined up nicely.

I can garentee thats not the case. BA seats are completely different and attach differently. I have BA seats in my EF and they're not a rail swap away from being in.

Thats interesting... I was given the impression that AU and BA's had much the same floor pan... and that ba Seats used the same rails...
the AU seats were very easy to get in. |

Yeah, AU seats you just unbolt the seat base and back, and swap the whole rail assembly over.
BA seats use a completely different setup. the BA rails don't attach to the seat back at all, there is 4 studs out of the bottom of the Seat, thats it.

make sure you use a 25 amp fuse from top of my head.check the rating on the moters on the seats and it should say what amps thay are.stef

So going by that, It will be heaps easier if I get some AU seats to replace the old 94/ED seats Im in now Right

yeh thanks every for ur help im probably just gonna leave the electric seats out coz like ef falcon sed they are over rated ha yeh i took the ba rails of gonna find out a way to fit them onto the ef rails
